Low Carbon Ferro Boron
Ferroboron is added to the steel as a boron-containing alloying element, and the boron-containing steel is called boron steel. A small amount of boron (0.001%~0.003%) is added to the steel to improve the hardenability of the steel. When the content of boron in the steel is 0.002%~0.005%, the steel has better hardenability. Adding 0.002% to 0.003% of boron to steel containing 0.35% to 0.4% carbon can replace a certain amount of alloying elements such as nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium.
