What are the differences between differnt grades of silicon metals?

Silicon metal is a gray and shiny semiconductor metal. It is also named crystalline silicon or industrial silicon. Silicon metal is mainly used as an additive for non-ferrous alloys which smelted from quartz and coke in an electric furnace.

The silicon metal is usually classified according to the content of iron, aluminum and calcium.Si metal is rich in silicon and is widely used in steel making, aluminium ingot production, casting foundry, purification and other industries. The content of different silicon metal grades varies and their applications are very different. The main common grades of silicon metal are 97, 553, 441,3303 and 2202, but in addition to these grades there are some other grades, such as 421, 411 and 1101.

Metal silicon 441, 553 is mainly used for smelting in aluminum foundries. They can improve the already useful properties of aluminum such as castability, hardness and strength. Adding silicon metal to aluminium alloys makes them strong and light. Therefore, the sales of metal silicon 441 and 553 account for a relatively large proportion in the market.

Anyang Kongfang can supply high purtiy si metal, such as 97, 553, 441, 3303 and 2202. We have been in this field more than 17 years. We have exported our products to more than 30 countries. Our main markets are Japan, South Korea, and some European countires.
