LC Ferro Chrome 65

LC Ferro Chrome 65 (ie Ferro Chromium) is one kind of ferro alloy. The main components are iron and chrome. The chrome content is about 65% and above. Except the main components of chrome and iron, it also contains impurities such as silicon, carbon(0.03, 0.06 or 0.1), sulfur, and phosphorus. Ferro chrome is often used as an important alloy additive in steel smelting and foundry industries.

Usages of LC Ferro Chrome 65

Ferro chrome 65 are widely used in the steelmaking and casting industry.

1 As alloy additives. Ferro chrome alloy are added to the steel to improve its performance of the steel.

2 As deoxidizer. Ferro chrome alloys can remove oxygen from molten steel in the steelmaking process, at the same time other impurities for example sulfur and nitrogen in steel can also be removed with other ferroalloys.

3 As Inoculant. Ferro chrome alloy is added to molten iron before casting to improve the crystalline structure of cast iron.

Classification of Ferro Chrome 65

According to the carbon content in ferro chrome, ferrochrome 65 can be divided into following types.

1Micro-carbon ferrochrome: C 0.06 to 0.15%;

2 Low-carbon ferrochrome: C 0.15~0.5%;

3 Medium carbon ferrochrome: C 0.5~4%;

4 High-carbon ferrochrome: C 4 to 8%;
